Bentonville-based Oz Brands, a compilation of outdoor recreation and art initiatives, will give Austin, Texas, residents an opportunity to win one-way flights to Northwest Arkansas, according to a Wednesday (Oct. 20) news release.
Oz Brands, which comprises Oz Art, Oz Trails and Fly Oz, will give away one-way Allegiant Air tickets to Austin residents, “who need a break from the rapid overgrowth of the booming metro,” the release shows.
The Northwest Arkansas Council and allies launched an ad campaign in three cities after a test run in Austin, Texas. The campaign wants to draw people who have technical talent or are starting a business — or both — to Northwest Arkansas. The effort will continue in Austin and expand into Denver, Minneapolis and Seattle.
Northwest Arkansas, a four-city region most notable for Walmart’s headquarters in Bentonville, is taking advantage of soaring cost of living in tech hubs like Austin to advertise its own growing technology economy, writes columnist Conor Sen, of Atlanta-based Peachtree Creek Investments.
